Coaching Clearances

To comply with Pennsylvania child protection laws, all coaching staff must obtain child abuse clearances from the PA State Police, the Department of Public Welfare, and the FBI if you have not lived in Pennsylvania for at least 10 years. The links below provide information on obtaining each of the clearances.

Step 1


Complete the PA State Police Criminal Record Check Online Form found here:

Step 2


Complete the PA Child Abuse History Clearance Online Form found here:
https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home

Step 3A


If you have NOT resided in PA continuously for the previous 10 years, you must obtain a fingerprint based background check.  More information can be found here:

  1. Select the Digital Fingerprinting service on this page.
  2. Enter Service Code 1KG6ZJ – DHS Volunteer.
  3. Complete the enrollment process and set up an appointment to be fingerprinted

Step 3B

If you have resided in PA continuously for the previous 10 years, you can complete the volunteer affidavit provided here.
(Note that this form must be notarized to be registered as a PA West coach which is required to coach age U11 and above.)
